Hello,
This article is related to this warning.
After a few very intensive days of searching, I managed - with the great help of the Wing Helper Beta Test Team and 3 further users who ran into the same problem - to pinpoint the reason for this problem and find a way around it.
It turned out, that antivirus programs going by the names AVG and AVAST (they are practically the same product) are causing Wing Helper to crash reproducibly in the "File Open" and "File Save" dialogs. All "historical" fixes for this problem, which are circulating in internet discussion forums, like not using the native file dialogs, did not work for me.
Uninstalling AVG and AVAST works reliably - Wing Helper instantly springs back to life!
This behavior does not affect Wing Helper in virtualized Windows (tested with VMWare).
I am sorry for any inconvenience this might cause you!
Kind regards,
Alex.
Hello,
in the past few days, I have received a few reports about Wing Helper suddenly not working any more: file save / file open functions lead to application crash.
At the time being, I can't reproduce the issue on any of my computers. I am trying to find the reason for the issues and to work-around them fast as I can - I suppose the reason is probably in a specific rare combination of Windows updates / drivers / hardware or software.
I'm tapping in the dark here, but I do have a few ideas, and one of the users experiencing the problem is willing to help me try to check whether the fix is working. Until I have found the issue, I must ask you for some patience, if you are affected.
Kind regards,
Alex Pozgaj.

Hello,
there is a new video, describing the differences between the Wing Helper 1.6 and the Wing Helper 1.4 (the last Wing Helper version with the full tutorial). You can find it on the Documentation page.
Kind regards, Alex.
Hello,
I am very happy to announce the new unofficial discussion forum for Wing Helper, hosted in the Forums section of Aloft Hobbies, one of the most recognized and popular sources for RC airplanes, components, and radio equipment!!
Aloft Hobbies has been built from the ground up to supply quality products at very reasonable prices. Their goal is to sell hard to find unique items as well as the common everyday items at great prices. Unlike many other online shops, they will also offer a surprising level of customer service. Aloft Hobbies is looking into expanding their services to also offer laser cutting services for their customers. maybe also kitting and distribution of the entire model, if there is a demand for it. So if you have any needs or desires in that direction, please contact Wayne directly, he will be happy to provide you further details.
I am happy and honored to see the Wing Helper discussion area over there - give it a try, it won't disappoint you!
Kind regards,
Alex Pozgaj.
