We are happy to announce the official release of Wing Helper 1.7.2!

This version introduces the following new functions and fixes for issues reported with previous versions:

  • Support for Dark Mode (Theme) implemented
  • Fix for a crash under MacOS
  • Development under Linux moved to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (Preparation for Wing Helper 2.0)
  • QT update for all platforms (Preparation for Wing Helper 2.0)
  • Minimum supported version of MacOS: 10.15 (Catalina)
  • The first version officially confirmed to run under Wayland (Linux)

As always, 1.7.2 can be downloaded for free from here. If you already have a valid Wing Helper license, you will be able to work with 1.7.2 without the need to re-enter the license key. If you don't own a Wing Helper license yet, after the trial period is over,  export to (DXF, SCAD, PDF, NGC, HOW) will be disabled.

Important note for Windows users: due to the change in the signature key provider from Sectigo to SSL.COM, in some cases, you can receive the following warning when installing Wing Helper on your Windows machine (the screenshots are taken from BETA 1):

:windows warning 1

If that happens, please press "More info", and you will be presented with more detailed information and the option to execute Wing Helper anyway:

windows warning 2

It is safe to ignore this message if you even receive it - reportedly, Windows requires the downloaded executables some time to acquire sufficient "reputation" before it accepts the signature with no complaints. When you press "Run anyway", Wing Helper will install with no further issues.

If you want to be sure, you can optionally also check the signature yourself, before installing Wing Helper, by right-clicking on SetupWingHelper_1.7.2_Beta_1.exe and selecting the menu option "Properties":

windows cert 1

Then select "Digital Signatures" and below:

 windows cert 2

Kind regards,
