Put rootrib in an angle?

Post by PeterL » Sat 21. Oct 2017, 13:46

Hi !
I wonder if it's possible to put the rootrib in an angle to fit against a tapered fuselage (winghalves), or is it fixed!?

Peter, Sweden
Btw, thanks Alex for giving us this program for a very humane price!

Hello Peter,

please excuse the late reply!

At the time being, Wing Helper does not support angled ribs - they all need to be parallel to each other and in 90 degrees to the main wing axis. I am aware that this can cause issues at the point where the wing meets the fuselage, I'll address it once I start to work on the fuselage, which will probably take some time (the design work has not yet started)

Oh, and thanks a lot for the kind words! ;-)

Best regards,

alex.

Hi Alex!
Thanks for your reply, and it is no problem for me, i manipulate the rootrib in Vectrics Cut 2D program to fit,
but really look forward to your coming uppdates!

Regards, Peter
Ps. At an angle is the correct English i think!

OK, good that you have a work-around! By the way, 1.4.0 will also introduce the support for 3D output in SCAD format, which can be transformed to STL by means of the program OpenSCAD for further editing. That will open additional possibilities for creation of elements not yet directly supported by Wing Helper. You can find some screenshots on my web page.

And thanks for the english tip, one lives and learns. ;-)
